In this image, the sand of Mars looks blue, not red. So how does this happen? Are Mars sands really blue?

The dunes in the image above may appear blue. But this image belongs to the Red Planet Mars. Of course, the sand on Mars isn’t really blue. This image, which was subsequently colored, was prepared to visualize temperature changes on Mars. The cooler regions are marked blue, while the warmer ones are marked as orange. The sand dunes seen in the image here surround the polar region of Mars. Here, temperatures can drop to -153 degrees. The areas where the sun’s rays come from are warmer, with yellow.

The image consists of photographs taken between December 2002 and November 2004 by the Thermal Emissions Imaging System device on the Mars Odyssey orbiter. NASA released this image to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Mars Oddysey, the oldest spacecraft still operating on Mars.

CHIP Online

Let’s block ads! (Why?)

ソースサイト：nichiani

Source: アニヲタβ

Photo: NASA As all eyes turned to the helicopter called Ingenuity, which was about to make its first flight on … 続きを読む »

{"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false
[1

post-213865","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-1
["GET
